the master and the apprentice

It is funny how life sometimes mirrors fiction. The impatient proud apprentice made to make his master’s tea sounds like a caricature from some kungfu movie and yet it happens in real life. Starting work as a graduate employee, you are often asked to do most of the administrative boring work or stuck with a simple monotonous role. You are, after all, a graduate with little experience expected to slog it out - character building stuff. Fresh from university, seeking challenges, dreaming about fast promotions and of deals and solutions that happen because of you, raring for a chance to prove yourself and show your skills and abilities, this is not what you expected. Impatient at the delay in getting a 'proper' role you grind your teeth and with an almost fatalistic attitude, agree to do your manager’s mundane admin jobs.

Reminds me of ‘Patience my young Padawan learner”
